How did you get a can of Rainier beer? I thought the brewery went out of business a few years back!

You may be thinking of Olympia beer though Rainier beer also changed ownership a few times. Some would say Rainier has made a big comeback. Heck, even bears prefer it 36 to 1 over Busch.

HISTORY LINK.

From last section of above link:

"Many feared that both the beer and its home would pass into history, but General Brewing ultimately bought the Rainier recipe and label and moved production to its Tumwater plant (original home of Olympia Beer, Rainier's long-time regional rival). Tully's Coffee purchased the Georgetown plant, and installed a neon green 'T' to replace the famous red 'R,' which it donated to the Museum of History and Industry."

Stroppy?

Had to look it up. Thanks for the English lesson. Alliterate the masses!

Re: Stroppy?

I think that is the one and only time I've used stroppy in my writing. I had to look it up again myself (short for obstreperous).

I'm going to be in SW Washington this weekend to climb in the Soda Peaks area. The main objective is Bare Mountain NW of Soda Peaks because it sports the deepest natural pit in the state.

You should come and join us. You could meet Dr. Roper and my girlfriend and the dog and Eric Noel and...me. We plan on meeting in Chelatchie at the country store there at 11:00am on Saturday.

Re: Stroppy?

Thanks for the invite but I fly to Chicago tomorrow to a) have a second wedding reception there on Saturday with my family and friends from back where I grew up, and b) go the Bears/Vikings game Sunday. Keep me in mind for future outings though. Would like to meet that group someday.

Never knew about the natural pit there. Have hiked up Observation Peak there a few times, will have to check my photos from that one to see if I can tell Bare Mountain.

Have a great weekend, the weather looks to be suprisingly nice here.

Brian
