Route Climbed: Unterbach - Wandelalp - Garzen - Wildgerst Date Climbed: Oct 23 2004
This was a very long ascent (2400 m) on a beautiful day in late fall. Garzen looks quite amazing when seen from Wandelalp. Descent to Schwarzwaldalp: this was the last day before the bus service closed for the season.
Route Climbed: ski route from Schwarzwaldalp Date Climbed: April 2nd 2000
it was not an insider tipp to go there on a fine sunday in April... The parking place at Schwarzwaldalp was already full when we started the climb at the end of the queue of at least 100 climbers. There were constantly two traces so overtaking was easy. When we reached the little pass behind Schrybershörnli (2515 m), the beautiful valley in SE direction still had no downhill tracks. So we decided to take downhill there first - it was fine until we reached the forest. There we turned around and climbed the same way back, quite exhausitng in the hot sun. When we reached the saddle again and the main track, we were really the last climbers but we did not stop until the summit., where I was quite exhausted after 2200 m ascent. We took downhill along the main route, still we found some nice slopes.
