i feel your pain

I forgot my route description last time we were up there and ended up only doing the N Ridge after burning too much time trying to find the right descent gully. BTW, I'd highly recommend the link-up, if you decide to do the N Ridge.

very cool ;')

fun read, nice TR. Brings me back to the times I've been up there.
I hope to go back on the W.Ridge again many times. Once you get the approach dialed its a nice easy day out. What a beaut!

You are my lost soul brother

Great read. I've been trying to climb the West Ridge for years. It is a great place to be, climbing the ridge or not. First time, my buddy and I came in from Roosevelt Lake side and totally confused ourselves so much we ended up on the North Ridge for a while. Ended up bailing after the rap on the route and had a super fun epic down the bowling alley next to the west ridge.

Second time: came in from Saddlebag lake. Forgot sleeping bag... doht! Slept on rope and covered up with with rope bag et al. Couldn't sleep, so we got the 3 or 4 am start. Got confused in the dark. Ended up on the 3rd class East Ridge and went to the summit via the hike up. What a bunch of noobs!

Third time. I know where this sucker starts, no foolin' me now! Go in from Roosevelt Lake so we can have a good nights rest and early start. Third class up to the start, I'm raring to go! And.... my partner informs me he's not feeling good and not up to it that day. OK, no worries! (Really!) Hike out.

One of these days, Norton, one of these days, we're gonna climb the West Ridge.

The whole area surrounding Conness is stunning and one of my faves.
