Hmmm

There is something I really like with this photo. Can´t really find out what it is. The lines...maybe.

Interesting.

Re: Hmmm

It is the look towards the summit and the little whisper "You or me? Today I will not retreat."

Beautiful

There are many repetitive photos on the Hood page. This one is different and spectacular though. Excellent shot!

Re: Beautiful

Thanks. I just bought a digital camera. The SLR always stayed in the pack when I was climbing, but these digital cameras are so small I can carry it strapped to my chest. That makes it possible to take impromptu shots like this one.

Great composition

The hard linear shapes in the snow contrast nicely to the billowy clouds and give the photo a great sense of direction.

Capturing the climber wearing dark clothing right on the ridge crest with the clouds behind does an excellent job of capturing a climber's profile in a way similar to backlighting, but without the problems usually seen with exposure on the foreground and background.

Wonderful!

Re: Spectacular!

Thanks! Seems those in this group either like to get way up high or make their way through the bowels of the earth.

Re: Spectacular!

SP is a diverse community. There is also a fair amount of beta on hiking trails in relatively flat areas posted to this site. Get high or get low, so long as you get out. It's all good and fun!
