Rozanski Vrh with Rozano

Rozanski Vrh with Rozano

Rozanski Vrh (1638m) across the western part of Rozano high undulating plateau. Rozanski Vrh is not marked and beside that it is guarded by huge belt of dense and almost impassable dwarf pine. Because of this very few have reached it summit, sometimes no one reaches its summit during whole year. Rozanski vrh is one of the best view points of North Velebit. Photo: Aleksandar Gospic

Swimming over dwarf-pine is great!

I like struggling dwarf-pine. Once (in Karavanke) I was caught for an hour - crawling below branches, stepping from one branch to another and falling down. All in the highest August heat. Boy, was I mad that day!

Re: Swimming over dwarf-pine is great!

haha, being a dwarf pine swimmer myself I completely understand you Vid :-) There is nothing like it, it is even harder than to plough 50cm of fresh snow! Why aren’t you in the Julians Vid, there is so much fresh snow, how can you resist? Velebit is beautifully white too; wish I could be up there but hurricane force Bura again. Wind chill is terrible even here in Zadar, up there must be hell.

Re: Swimming over dwarf-pine is great!

I missed today somehow :-( When I realised it will be fine, it was already noon. Then I started to prepare ski equipment. Everything was wrong, so I finished preparations at about 3 p.m. Tomorrow we'll go probably in Istra, but then I hope for a ski tour or two :-) Take care, Sasa!

Reminds me of Monte Albo

on Sardinia. Especially the part about the dwarf pines! But the sharp rocky underground was worse...
