Hero photosGreat term, hero photos, and a great photo as well. I love the snow leopard! Which peaks are those in the background?

Re: Hero photosThanks Charles. Mathias gets the credit for coming up with the "Hero Photo" concept. The snow leopard is named Sonam and he travelled with my wife when she spent a month doing medical work in Nepal. He's been above 20,000' a couple of times now.

When I First Saw NelsonWhen I first saw Nelson on SP, it was this picture and it was on his profile page. And I thought, "WOW! Now there's an experienced mountaineer!" And then I had the pleasure of meeting him in person. Just a normal guy that loves the mountains. But he's a great guy, too, and his charming wife is a real sweetie. I look forward to seeing them again!

That's the thing about photographs. They often lie. Compared to most folks here on SP my mountaineering resume is pretty slim.
