Sergio Verdina prepping his splitboard at the beginning of the boulderfield (c. 4,000 ft) on April 3, 2004. The blocks for this boulderfield were blown straight out of Hades, they're that irritating--whether on skis or on foot. It's the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the approach to the Eldorado ice cap area.
