are rapidly fading into memory with the passing of each winter. Some of these places have been around longer than 100 years, and I've noticed their accelerated decay in recent years. Soon they will be gone and Colorado's colorful, rich and tainted history will be long forgotten and turned to dust. All we will have will be pictures like this one.



These ruins are reminders of how we exploited Colorado's mountains. They are a reminder of the romance that enveloped Colorado's colorful "western" history. Few places in the nation can still lay claim to such striking scenes of staggering beauty that not only stir the soul, but help us remember our mistakes and our heritage. Good job, Jon.
