Fancy shot!

The coloring is very nice. I think that this is an underappreciated photo. Have you ever considered attaching it to this album?

Re: Fancy shot!

Thanks Mark! Do you mean http://www.summitpost.org/album/266463/underappreciated-photo-s-part-2.html? Actually, there are so many underappreciated photos at SP, many of them mine, that I've pretty much given up on photos being rated well. I have no time for promoting myself like some do - so I just hope that somebody will get some pleasure from my photos and leave it at that. -Bob

Vicinity of Mt Baker

Up here in Cloverdale B.C Always a treat to see your Mt.Baker. I was wondering what the ridge of peaks is called just southwest of Mt.Baker. Is it 3 Fingers ? I rode my motorcycle through there a few times.I think they are just east of Marblemount.

You must have a nice place with a view like that.

Thank You. ian

Re: Vicinity of Mt Baker

This was taken from my buddy Duane Gilliland's house when he lived on a hill with this view of Baker. He has since sold that place and lives in the valley. The ridge of peaks SW of Baker is called Black Buttes. Three Fingers and Whitehorse Mountain are farther south, but they're note east of Marblemount, they're east of Arlington. There are some fabulous mountains east of Marblemount though -- such as Eldorado, Johannesburg, Forbidden, Boston, Buckner, Goode, and many more.

Thank You

They really look nice on a Blue sky day. Now with the snow is even better. It will be nice this weekend. gonna try to photograph that range. Black Buttes.

Your photo .. it looks to me to be from the south ? can you see Sherman crater steam vent sometimes ?
After the quake in Seattle it was steaming good.
Going to visit your state this year with my motorcycle & want to see east of Mt. Baker.

Cheers

Re: Thank You

Now I'm wondering if I interpreted your question correctly. The range SW of Baker I was thinking of are the sharp peaks that attach to the volcano. But there's another range SW of that called the Twin Sisters range. They are removed from the volcano, but still very rugged and beautiful. I'm wondering which range you're speaking of.

Re: Thank You

Indeed the house from which the photo was taken is about 32 miles SW of the mountain, near the north end of Big Lake, east of Mt. Vernon.
