That's me edging my way down the old tailings pile of the Mystery Hill Mine. Oh, only about 35 degrees of hardpan. Not the easiest descent. The cable was quite helpful. Incidentally, this cable is most likely the one used for the overhead ore tramway that went past this location long long ago. And actually, there were two cables per tram: a downhill load carrying 1-inch cable and an uphill no-load 7/8-inch cable. Photo taken June 30, 1996.
