Once I passed 11,500 ft I...
| Once I passed 11,500 ft I was totally engulfed by clouds (August 31, 2003). For the next 1,500 vertical feet I wouldn’t be able to see more than 200 ft in any direction. I hugged the eastern side of the northern ridge to keep from getting disoriented. It is a long steep drop off to the left (east).
