looks weird

Is this a big dike of quartzite between layers of gneiss?

Re: looks weird

Really I don't know of geology but the name "Marmolera" comes from the marble ("marmol" in spanish). I don't know that type of marble is.

Re: looks weird

No desainme, as Rafa says it's marble. The limestone rocks suffer a contact metamorphosis wich produces important crystals. I've seen the "marmolera del Infierno" and I can tell you that is really impressive.

Re: marmolera

Gracias, desde luego vista así parece mentira que nos atrevieramos a pasar por allí pero quizás es que impresiona más vista así desde lejos que cuando estás pasando por encima.
