The space between the second...

The space between the second and third ladder is tight and hard to negotiate if you have a full pack.

"hard to negotiate"...

...is right. I made the mistake of stowing my trekking poles horizontally and they got stuck on either side at the crucial moment. Standing on the top rung of the second ladder and holding on to the bottom of the third, I had to reach back with one hand to get them loose. Exciting stuff.

Re: Re:

Good question. It depends on the conditions. If the rocks are dry and free of snow ice it is safe. Just take your time and think about every move you make. There's a very short window of time when it can be done under good conditions. I'm afraid there will be snow now and so I will have to wait until next year.
