Jacob Waltz (The Lost Dutchman Mine)My name is Harold> I am also know as the Crazy Old Man! I wrote the book titled: "The Lost Dutchmen Mine and Peg Leg Pete Mine" (ISBN:978-1-4787-9011-2 [2017}. Chapter 8, "Direction to Lost Dutchman Mine Given to Reiney Rienhart by Jacob Waltz" are correct. However, at this time, 2 years later, I know that Jacob Waltz original route was a trail marked by the Peralta Party that lead down Boulder Canyon to West Boulder Canyon (Willow Spring) to Barks Saddle to Carney Spring to the site of the Goldfield Mine. On his return trip to Carney Spring he found the Lost Dutchman Mine. He then return to Carney Spring and the Barks Saddle and a marked Peralta Party trail to the Fremont Saddle and Peralta Spring.
I enjoy seeing the photos of part of the Peralta Trail followed on his return to his home because I am too old hike it. Thank you. Sincerely, the CRAZY OLD MAN
