Upper Glacier

Upper Glacier

Taken from the top of the lower glacier at the ridge. A few flags here on the ridge to guide you on the way back is a good idea. Once the ridge is gained a roughly 90 degree turn to the right has you facing the upper mountain. Just weave between the hazzards and soon you will be on the top! July 2007.

Re: Normal route?

Its the upper half of the normal route once you reach the shoulder on the west side of Cayambe. A 90 degree turn to the right faces you towards the summit, which the picture show. (The terrain reminded me of Rainier above the DC.)
