We started hiking at about 12:30 am from the Stewart Creek TH. We had to search for the first stream crossing, and find a log to move into place for the second. We got to above timberline by sunrise, and summitted at about 6:10 am. There was only a little snow, and it was firm and easy to walk over on the way up. The weather was beautiful, although a bit breezy on the way up. Coming down, we met one other couple who were on their way up. We did just a little postholing, and quite a bit of boot skiing. The view from the top of this peak is fabulous. We made it back to the TH just before 11 am. It was great to find a 14er that didn't require crampons or ice axes this early in a generally snowy season! Route finding was no problem, except in the dark, with the stream swollen with spring melt-off.
