On our walk from north to south we had to cross two major training ground's. The first one presented no difficulties since the fence we had to scale was only three feet high, and no one was on the ground's at that time. But when we reached "de Harskampse zand" we suddenly found ourselfs in the middle of a war game (no live ammo). After a rather sleepless and nervous night , sleepless from gun fire and nervous from soldiers running thru the bush. we had to cross one of the large tank moat's that cross the entire Hoge Veluwe. There were tank's and artillery on our right and a whole lot of soldiers on our left after 30 minutes or so we decided to make a run for it and cross the moat in full sight, and my clothe's are bought to stand out in case of a resque, but we were never seen. A whole week in a military zone and we were never noticed.
