THANK YOU!!!

Brian - this is the only TR I've found so far on Iceland. My wife and I are going there this summer for our anniversary trip, spending 9 days there, and hope to do some peak bagging, hot spring soaking, and hiking while there. Great TR and awesome photos, with some humor thrown in. Did you have a climbing guidebook, or what sort of resources did you use?

Re: THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for the nice words! You will have a great time there. The only climbing info I had was: 2 tour books I bought at a book store (not easy to find books on Iceland here), info I found on the internet and some info from another SP member that he mailed to me. If you want, I can email you the names of the two books when I get home tonight and if you want, I can mail you the pages he sent me. Let me know. There was not much out there but the books I got had some mention in them like "there is climbing here" so I just went and found them on my own when I went there. There is more info available in some brochures at Landmannalaugur about various hiking trails in the park too.

I'm jealous you get to go there. I would love to go back again and hope to in a few years.

Nice!

I love the photos - and thanks for taking the time and effort of making a good report about it, not just a fast-made album like it is the current wave here. I vote much more seldom as I used to, but that gets a 10/10.

cheers,
Peter

Great!

A really great set of pages!!! My only regret on this one is that I couldn't click through to enlarge/vote on the pictures.

Re: Great!

Thanks for the nice words. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about programming to do that but if I figure it out, I will do it. Thanks!

Very, very....

...good read, terrific photos; sounds like it was the kind of two weeks you'll savor for a long time! (I certainly enjoyed reading about it!)

Thanks

It's much better than looking at me. Regrettably solo most of the time, I don't get good action shots like yours.

Many Thanks

Two days ago I finished a murder mystery set in Iceland ('Where the Shadows Lie' by Michael Ridpath) where key scenes are set in mountains and falls you have in your TR. It was great to see them in living color!

Nice trip

Nice post but I'm pretty shure you are confusing east and west in the post.

Snæfell is on the east side and Jökulþúfur(Snæfellsjökull) and Helgafell are on the west side.
