fog, wind, fall and flying pigs  Sucess!

I started from Mirador/Puerto del Saucillo at 6:35 with headlamp and used it until 7:15. It was foggy and woth strong winds, so visibility was poor. Reached the summit of Torrecilla after 2:10. Wind was crazy and there was still dense fog, so only stayed for 5 minutes. I ran down, but my foot caught a rock and I trembled hurting my leg, arm, hip and brusing my ribs. Luckily my head only got a few scrathes. I walked back was still stubborn enough to summit El Pilar de Tolox (1.756 m) and Penom de Los Enamorados (1.777 m). On my way back I saw a group of wild boars racing down the mountain side. One stumbled and went flying through the air. That was the best part of the tour! Back after 4:10. Now there was no clouds around the summit ....

Re: fog, wind, fall and flying pigs

The time has come, the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of fog — and wind — and climbers’ tracks —
Of stumbling — and stings —
And why I felt the need to trot —
And whether boars have wings!

Looking at Africa  Sucess!

A gentle and very beautiful ascent to a top from where we could see the snow covered mountains of Africe. Just amazing...

Route Climbed: Los Quejigales-Pto. de los Pilones-Summit Date Climbed: June 2000  Sucess!

Nice mountain-walk, specially from Puerto de Los Pilones and through the Meseta de los Quejigales. We met some wild life (a wild pig, and many wild goats) we passed forests of an endemic type of fir thee called "Pinsapo".
