Three Penguins

Three Penguins

Shirley approaching the base of The Three Penguins during our morning hike in. The Right Chimney follows the obvious dihedral. Down below on the left is the temporary visitors' center for the NP along with the park road. The semi further along is on US 191 (March 27, 2005).

Re: hell of a pic!

Thanks Ryan.

Yeah, it's the park road in the foreground and US191 with the semi on it....not backcountry....

Sweet-looking formation, but...

why are they called the 3 Penguins? Isn't it too warm for penguins there?

Great read and photos

As always, much enjoyed! Beautiful pics, just enough beta to make you want to be there. And since my partner and I enjoy climbing together much like you and Shirley, I like the format.

Re: Great read and photos

Thank you - appreciate the kind remarks!

I too like this format :) --- you're not looking around for a climbing partner. It's more like you find a plan and you just go...quite a luxury!

good climbing to you!
