JackWhat in the hell are you doing up in the South Rock Creek Drainage? Did you climb something up in there? Is it to get this shot? Man... you work hard for your shots. No doubt. That's one remote place to be.

Re: JackYou're right Kane, I do work hard for my shots! I wanted to go up there because that cirque looked sweet on the topo. I didn't really know what to expect of course but I knew it would be awesome! This was a tough bushwack; about 4 miles through 6 inches of snow. The most difficult part was avoiding all the boggy terrain which seems to occupy every flat space in that whole drainage. Also in the fresh snow I could see lots of animal tracks, including bear prints and a ton of what looked like cat prints, though I'm not completely sure of that. I even came across a freshly gnawed bone, about 9 inches long and still red colored from the blood/marrow, with those cat prints all around. Kind of spooky.
That is indeed a spectacular cirque... it reminded me of the Lone Eagle Peak cirque in Indian Peaks; like a "sister-cirque" if you will. : )
