This peak to the south looked higher, so should be Granite Mtn? (Sept 27, 2003).

The Cradle on the left

I don't know if that's Granite Peak but it has a lot of granite on it.

The peak on the left is The Cradle (7,467 ft)--a peak I'm glad to have climbed, even if a certain part of my anatomy had an unpleasent experience on it.

Re: The Cradle on the left

All the pictures that I have seen indicate Granite is the round peak right above upper Robin Lake, but this one just to the south was taller and looked more like a peak.

Re: The Cradle on the left

You're right - Granite is the peak just to the south of the shoulder visible from Robin Lakes. But we often say that something is a certain mountain even when we can't see the true summit. For example, in this photo of Mt. Jefferson from Jefferson Park, the summit pinnacle is hidden behind what is seen by more distance than the summit of Granite is behind the visible shoulder. Yet we still call that Mt. Jefferson.
