This is the East Face...

This is the East Face directly below the summit of Boston. For a larger version, click here. This was my route up. It is also possible to traverse north beyond the face to begin climbing later, such that you reach the crest some 200-300 feet north of the summit (this is the route described by tbnelson). I started up about where that snow whale is perched on the rubbly ledge. From there, I zigzagged straight up for the 200-odd feet until I made the crest about 50 feet north of the top. It was mostly class 4 but contained enough chossy, class-5, "hope this big rock I have to yard on doesn't come out in my hand" climbing to engage my sphincter muscle. Solo, I'd say it took me about 15 minutes to climb up. I can't really remember. Who cares how long it took. It took. July 29, 2000.
