This is Quandary taken from across the pass on the flanks of Mt. Silverheels (named after a bar girl who tended miners sick with smallpox and then disappeared, she was known for her silver shoes). You can see the top of Quandary's massive east face, a favorite ski mountaineering descent as well as the south facing couloirs just beginning to fill with snow. To the far right and behind is Pacific peak, a high 13er, and to the left and behind is Fletcher peeking out, another high 13er. Taken October 11, 1998
