The West Buttress of Peak 8,721

This view from the lower slope of Needle Point shows the impressive west facing buttress of Peak 8,721 that separates the visible remote rugged northwest bowl and the relatively gentle bowl holding Bear Lake. This west point of the mountain is mostly firm, light granodiorite, which might make a good big wall climb for those into that sort of thing. August 2008
