The trail
up Slide Canyon has several places where you get great views back down the canyon and the feel that civilization is not very far removed from where you are. Of course, I could hear dogs barking, trains, and other suburbia noise to remind me that it was close by but yet, the canyon gave a feeling of solitude and had its own special aura.
