An interesting question!Seeing this cross, please cast your opinion - from which side, left or right, was the wind blowing? It's interesting to think about this!

Re: An interesting question!Eh, only one answer. Where are others?

Both sidesLooks to me like the wind came mostly from the right but also came from the left for a little while. Rime ice is on both sides, but less on the left.

Re: Both sidesJeah, you're both right - you and the Lower Marmot. But it's interesting - I have a similar picture and more than half of people said the wrong side - as if they were looking a flag waving in the wind.

Re: Both sidesHi Vid,
You did well with this photo. Perfect composure, excellent framing, etc. When driving in ice fog, I have seen rime ice form on the hood ornament and the radio antenna of my car - always on the leading edge. Also on trees at passes and ridges. Photography is an art, to be sure. Having spent 45 years working at it, as a hobby, I can say this.
I am glad to be a part of the sp community and am glad to have the opportunity to converse with people such as yourself, much more experienced than I in serious mountain climbing.
Best regards,
Don Nelsen
