The South Ridge of Remmel...

The South Ridge of Remmel Mountain (Pt. 8320+ and Pt. 8318). It is possible to climb up and over the South Ridge--particularly if coming in from Fire Creek or Andrews Creek, which is the long valley at right. The only difficulty is circumventing the crags at the north end. They can be avoided by taking the gully with the snow remnants in it. Click here for the opposite view. Oct. 14, 2004.

Remmel experience

I had thje privilege of being the last U.S. Forest Service lookout on Remmel in 1942-It was closed after that season and destroyed to prevent tort liability. I was also there in 1941. In '42 I took my new bride of two weeks up there as an alternate AWS observer. If interested contact me at scottrob1002@msn.com.
