"The Red But(te) Green Thread ?"

One may encounter this when visiting the extreme southern portion of the GRAND STAIRCASE-ESCALANTE National Monument in southern UTAH. Located approximately 9 miles east of 7,271' MOLLIES NIPPLE, this is the typical type of rock in this area. I wouldn't recommend anybody climbing on this 5,406' high butte, aptly named GINGHAM SKIRTS BUTTE. I INCLUDED it just to show you the brillant COLOURS of God's paintbrush. Little did I know that this humble red butte in southern Utah would be the start of something BIG, the (so-called) "Red But(te) Green Thread?"

Re: Cool

Thanks, Josh! It's one of my Five Best Photos, so it BETTER look great.

Otherwise, I'm doing SP and the climbing
community a disservice by submitting it to
this awesome website.

I just wish I could have spent more time there ..

Re: Stunning!

THANKS - I really respect the Dutch for
their good-nature and the way they look at
Life.

Actually, my tips would not bear fruit, because I (myself) am STILL a beginner.

My most stimulating TIP would be, PLEASE
visit Utah if you ever get the opportunity.

UTAH ROCKS!

Re: Stunning!

Your pictures look suuuuhuuuperprofessional! I wish I had your skills (and rocks) :) I transferred flights at Salt Lake City last year and got a peek of the colourful hills of Utah. Beautiful! And what a difference to our green, flat, cow filled meadows :)

'Hartelijk bedankt' for making me feel welcome and for the kind words about The Netherlands. Vriendelijke groet uit Groningen :)

Re: Stunning!

The brightest side must never be overlooked.

Utah also has cows. But, Utah does not have
the cool breeze of an ocean, the aroma of
Germanic food cooking in the country next door,OR the flat rain-drenched expanse WITH
beautiful girls to ride their bicycles and
laugh tenderly in the misting rain.

Please, be grateful for what you have, and
let your DREAMS carry you to the opposite
side of the fruitful plain called Life.

Re: WHY ....?

"Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows,
And what's on the other side?
RAINBOW'S are visions,
They're only illusions ..
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some chose to
Believe it,
But I know they're wrong wait and see ..."

GREEN is a very beautiful COLOUR!

Postcard Perfect

I have EXACTLY the same photograph. What an awesome sight! The gravel road to Old Paria is well worth it. I originally wanted to visit the movie set for The Outlaw Josey Wales and ‘discovered’ something better and much more beautiful.
