The Rappenwand as seen from the Glasental valley.

The Rappenwand, which is localised into the Glasental valley, at the north of Erfweiler, is one of the most spectacular and remarkable climbing-rocks of this sector. The over part of the cliff is erecting very high, from the resinous canopy and the site can so beeing excellent repered from the valley ... The localisation and the access to the crag seems to be easier, and this is confirmed when we're on the ground ! Unfortunately, is the path for going to the rock unmarked. But, with a very big chance, is the base of the Rappenwand easy enough to penetrate (the vegetation is missing here, and only the over part of the rock seems to be junglual, savage ! ). For reaching the top of the Rappenwand, are the slopes very steep ... The forest is equally dens and savage, the floor is very slippy ! Caution ... But, from thereover, with a technical and impressive legs- and arms- climb, you will succeed to reach the small and unsecured summit of the tower, which will offers you a fabulous falcon-panorama, deep into the Glasental valley and her mountains (Hahnberg, Kahlenberg, Sorgenberg and Winterberg). From here, you can see several rocky-formations of the valley, which are all very caracterial for the sector : Kumbtfels, Glasfels and Winterbergfels (all the three are localised on the left hand, at the eastern direction ... ). Enjoy the Rappenwand too much. Thanx !
