Re: This is a special oneNothing is whited out - the clouds were playing around the mountain which was sometimes in and sometimes out. The "cordory" ( corduroy ) effect is that you are looking at 4 to 6 inches of new snow on ledges separating steeper rock bands - the rock in Glacier is sedimentary and faces such as this tend to be "stair steps" of short cliffs with narrow ledges between.

Reminds me of SuilvenThis stratified peak reminds me of Suilven in North Scotland. Good pic just the same.

Re: Links to pictures of SuilvenYeah, Suilven is a fantastic site in that area of Scotland. It's not very high but it does have a lot of local relief. Plus, it (along with Canisp) sits out on its own. It's a tourist trap kind of place around there.
Scotland is my favorite country outside of the U.S.
