The High Sierra

Goethe Lake is high on the Sierra Crest, and represents-to me, at least- the essence of what this range is all about. High, blue lakes surrounded with granite boulders big as houses, and a silence which reverberates in the soul.. While it's nice to put only a map and so forth on this page, SummitPost has become very difficult for the average visitor to find what he/she may be looking for, and tend to come to this page first, or the Yosemite page.
