The fires shown here were...

The fires shown here were started by lightning on June 29, 2003. This is two possibly three fires in the area of Redstone. I was on my way to Skyscraper Mountain when the lightning struck; this is what I saw from the top about one hour after the lightning had struck. Mount Rainier National Park WA.

This photo can be deceptive, the fire was 2-3 miles away, on the other side of the west fork of the White River, and the photo was taken through a camera with a 6x zoom. The lightning was scaring me more then the fire. I watch it for a good half hour and it did not move towards me. The wind was blowing in another direction.
