The Crux

The most dangerous part of the SW route on Buckner was this part of the rib. Here Redwic is scrambling over loose dirt and rocks with little more than bushes to hold onto. The terrain is steeper than it looks. Photographed July 11, 2010.

Gimpilator is correct!

This section was the worst part of the rock rib. "Veggie belays" were necessary for us, as much of the dirt and rocks were loose. Plus, this section was very steep. I would not recommend traversing the rock rib if wet.
