Cheers M, you'd voted for it before I'd finished pasting, posting etc. Seems to be taking ages tonight.

Favorite picture: Causey Pike from Newlands. Amazing number of walks in such a small region.

Hi D

Thanks for the vote again.

Are you the expert on that TOPO thing? You helped out with some coordinates on the Newlands Group page which helped me to understand how to use it, or so I thought! But, I measured the coords exactly for my Coledale Group page on my own map, put them into TOPO and got a point shown that's about 15miles or so AWAY from Coledale. To get the pointer to hit the right spot I have to put in incorrect coords! Is this common???

Your pages make a good case for visiting this area of the Lakes. Topozone(United States G.S. maps) and Google Earth are quite consistent with regard to the summits of Katahdin, Longs Peak and my house. Livio and I checked Google Earth against an Italian mapping system with respect to the Roman Coloseum and again the results were quite consistent. I am using a tiltable google earth which zooms in more than the google maps.

You'd be very welcome to visit me in my backyard, choose your date.

Recent email from Nelson suggests he may be visiting UK this year.
