"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

great weekend in the gorgeStopped for a pretty straightforward scramble to top of east chimney on the way to Shortoff. I severely painful ingrown toenail prevented me from topping out. Lots of fun nonetheless and I was able to continue on to Shortoff and Wolfpit. It was a Sunday and not too crowded.

Nice rock, quite a busy areaLots of nice rock climbing, but so many people hiking around because you are so close to the Table Rock parking area.

Great Southern ScramblingTons of fun! Plenty of room to explore and scramble. Just be careful not to confuse easy class 4 with class 5 rock. But there's more than enough exposure to satisfy southeast deprived mountain scrambling junkies. Thanks for posting it Bob-- now I know where to go to get my fix! :)

Nice in the FallRemember a severe lack of parking but the colors were amazing. A great place to make the wife nervous :)

Rough Road to parking lotGood trip but thought that the Mustang II would get stuck.

Re: Rough Road to parking lotThe road's top-notch, these days. In fact, the last part of it is paved, now, as is the parking lot.
