Thanks for your vote and adding a summit log Juh. More photos would be appreciated too.

Any more plans for Nepal, Singu Chuli?

Not to get picky, but juh33, are you sure you did this one in summer? Its supposed to be impossible to climb in summer and during the monsoon. Also, unless you had a high-poweredrocket launcher, it would be impossible for your sunscreen to be headed for China from this peak.

Sorry for nitpicking, I don't doubt you climbed it, but the summit log may have a few mistakes. I don't mean to nitpick though, so please don't take the post the wrong way.

Scott, you bastard!

Thanks for making me go hunting through old journals looking for when the hell I climbed this one! Seriously though, no offense taken.

Far as the China comment, I only meant it was headed toward China - down the north face at a high rate of speed.

Far as the peak goes, I did it in May, which you're right, isn't technically summer. Living in Tucson has made me think of April - October as "summer" : )

Why is it supposed to be impossible during the summer - storms? It certainly wasn't the easiest climb I've done but by far not the hardest either.

Just found one good shot and posted it - I'll see what else I can dig up. No plans for Nepal lately... and funny you mention SIngu Chuli... that's the one I was there to climb - Tharpu was basically just climbed because it was on the way and looked fun (which it was!). Once again, nice work!

Not many peaks are climbed during the monsoon season in Nepal, but this region (Annapurna) is one that does get very large snow dumps most years. The original Annapurna Base Camp and the trail up to it is especially avalanche prone and you can tell from some of my photos just how much snow there was this year even in October.

When you do decide on Singu Chuli let me know and I'll do it as well. As you may not know my wife is Nepali and I have an easy ride (and cheap too) on all the essentials of permits, guide, porters etc.

Sounds good, man. Weren't you the guy who was looking into Cho Oyu next year? That's definitely on my list but unfortunately I've only got parts of my summers and winters off these days. Still, sometime I'll be heading back there and it'd be fun to meet up for one....

It was me that put up a message about Cho Oyu. I'll be going to Nepal next Sept-Nov for this and other things as well.

West ridge?

Does anyone know if the West Ridge has been attempted?
(the steep one that goes slightly south).
