Re: Galen Rowell...Thanks Misha, That is the supreme compliment and one I don't deserve. Rowell was a hero of mine, I have many of his books in their first edition. I did get to shake his hand once, way back in 1976, I think, when he gave a lecture at the AAC in New York on his way to Pakistan.
This photo, by the way, was not a set up. My friend was walking to the edge to include a lake below in his photo. I saw that he was going to pass in front of the sun and I had one chance to press the shutter as he moved by. I got lucky.

Re: Galen Rowell...For me, this is what mountain photography is all about! An opportunity, a good sense of lighting and composition, a solid control over your equipment and a bit of luck. You got it all in this shot!
Galen's work is an inspiration for me as well. I hope and plan to be as good if not better than him someday (call me ambitious:)
