Steel ropes!

When I climbed (better: descended) by Punta Penia, many years ago, there wasn't steel ropes... Do you think are they useful? I don't remember any difficult (maybe some passages of I UIAA)...

Are steel ropes useful?

Perhaps in winter or when snow or ice covers the rocks could be useful or to people without experience in rock climbing... but in good weather there isn't necessary to use that steel ropes. I supose that this climb is very frequented by guides (and people without experience).
