Starting the Meßner/Sint

Starting the Meßner/Sint

Alexander on a valiant attempt on the Meßner/Sint route (VI+) after several weeks of unusual late spring snow. We turned around pretty quickly due to wet rock and some spectacular cornice collapses.

Wow!

The clarity of this shot is amazing....

What camera was used here?

Re: Wow!

Hi there, it's my old trusty Panasonic Lumix LX-1. But it's the first time I shot RAW images instead of JPG.

Re: Wow!

And I think RAW probably gave you some additional opportunity to create a great shot! RAW has really helped some of my pictures in the last year or two.

Re: Wow!

You may be right! I just did the usual post-processing, boosting saturation a bit, darkening the darks. But the fidelity of the image must really add something. I'm excited for the summer, I guess I'll always shoot raw now.

Re: steeper

Yeah, I guess you are right, I didn't even notice! It was a hurried photo right after he got some pro in.
