Soca river - Otona pool

Soca with its emerald blue colour is one of the most beautiful rivers of Europe. White limestone blocks and vivid water - this is also a paradise for kayakers, canoers and rafters. But in some sections it can be also very dangerous and every year there are casualties on the river. Otona pool is some 200 meters away from the road, so to see it you must hike down from the path along the river. But it is worth doing it. Summer, 2007.

Wonderful!

Excellent photo!
Once I was rafting on Soca river, and we made the trip starting at this point twice a day because it was so funny experience...
I even jumped off from these cliffs (8-10 m fall) where you made the shot. :)

It's very, very charming, this "whirlpool" - in which tropical Hotel is it ;-))

Have you seen Soca, Michael? Nothing can compare with it. Verzasca is a beautiful river too - its rocks are more picturesque than Soca's. But the colour of water is on Soca's side.
