Snow Cave - Illumination Rock

Snow Cave - Illumination Rock

Fierce winds destroyed our tent the previous night. Our desire for the summit left us with no choice. We had to dig a snow cave at illumination saddle. December 4, 2011.

Re: wow

Thank you. I was very excited when I saw this light hitting the rock. This must be the light for which it is named.

Stunning!

More fine work and high adventure by you guys. I agree with the Cerro Torre look alike comment, and in our Cascades to boot--that is a complement. Again, great job!

Breathtaking...

...just a GREAT action shot. Really captures the moment with striking presence. The light is perfect, the peak is impressive, don't know how this could have been improved. One of the best on SP in a long time!

Thanks for sharing,

Big Lew

Re: Breathtaking...

Thanks Lew. This is an amazing rock because when you view it from this side it looks very narrow, but it's actually quite broad like a fin.
