Approach
From Saint Jean d'Aulps or Morzine take the little road to Essert la Pierre (940 m).
In the center of the village, you can park near a telephone box.
Route Description
-1200 meters difference in level.
-3 h 50 from Essert la Pierre to the summit.

Walk direction north-east, pass near a reservoir on an agricultural track which leads into the forest. Don't cross the river but climb along the "Nant Trouble" (Nant means torrent)
At the next crossway, go to the right through a deep forest. The ramp in the forest is long and steep and climbs in E direction.You pass near some houses in ruins and arrive to the chalet de la Garette (1192m) and to the ruins of Huto d'Avo (1487m).
On the crest the forest becomes sparse. You pass near the sheepfold of the Marteau (1662m) and arrive on the long SW crest which leads to the summit (cross).
Return by the same way (2 hours).
