I disagree with Maria--this isn't a five star page; it's better than that!

...will lead to discussions and arguments... No argument from me: this is a wonderful page, with an equally splendiferous(?) trip report! Thanks for taking the time.

Thanks a lot for the kind words. I learned a new adjective that way: splendiferous. I just like the area - again and again I'm awed by the views you get when popping over the nex pass or shoulder.

You have asked me to submit Croda Rossa as a mountain page. Well, I'm a bit honored by the question, but first of all I would like to give you a lot of credit for your in all senses great work, also with this Sesto page - the Land of Speck!

Jørgen, of course some of us could post a Rotwand / Croda Rossa page. But it's not quite the same if you haven't climbed it. So you're the man! I'm certainly going to help you so if you have any questions or need info or pictures, just ask me. There are some photos on this page here and I can show you how to link them on your page (you see, that I'm quite confident that you'll do it).

So - give it a try! We desperately need more of the Sexten/Sesto single summits!

Last but not least: thanks for your kind vote! You know that for me this area is the most beautiful one I have seen and I'm very happy to be the maintainer of this page.

Great work.

Nice panorama! Glad to see it getting used. To get rid of the scroll bar on the side, increase the height of the div another 10px, to 438. I might up my vote if you do that.

I wanted to ask: who is brendon? Bit then I saw your profile page. It seems that you got a name makeover? As for the scroll bar - on Mozilla it doesn't show - I had fine tuned it to that picture height + 16pixels. I guess I'll make that 26 now. Thanks for intoducing us to that technique !

Brendon, could you have a look at the source of this section? As time permits of course. The two last labels (Dôme de La Sache and Mont Pourri) behave somewhat strangely: If I include Dôme de la Sache, the width of the composite pano gets enlarged (only on Mozilla and Firefox) while Mont Pourri is invisible on all browsers (including IE). Is there some kind of "wrapping"?

Thanks

The word GROUP in the name

Don't remember the discussion, but once I proposed that on SPv2 it is not necessary any more to name areas and groups additionally with the word group. Gabriele agreed, what do you think? This page could simply be: Sexten / Sesto Dolomites.

I've thought about that too. It's one of the many things to do...

vp>"once I proposed that on SPv2 it is not necessary any more to name areas and groups additionally with the word group"

I can agree with you, but when group and highest summit have the same name (Mont Blanc, Gran Paradiso, Emilius..) some confusion can arise , also if they belong to different categories in SPv2, and the suffix GROUP helps to distinguish the two objects.

Re: The word GROUP in the name

Of course, Livio. In that case I'd use the word group.

"Büllelejoch" instead of "Büllejoch"

Well done, Gangolf. Thanks to you and the others who helped to improve this excellent page.

As I remember, the German name of pian di cengia is Büllelejoch, not Büllejoch.

Re: Getting There

No trains in Sesto. But you can reach by train the nearby San Candido from Venezia ( and maybe from Austria, I dont know ) and then take the bus.
Ciao!
