Senecio franciscanus

This is the "rare" Senecio species of the San Francisco Peaks. Many confuse other plants for it (especially the other common yellow flower on the mountain: Avens), but they are not it. This image was taken on Fremont Peak. It is very common there, and along the western ridge that leads up to Fremont Peak from Fremont saddle. It is also common on the upper stretches of the Weatherford Trail, in the saddles on the Humphrey Summit Trail, and along the upper parts of the trail above the saddle. Despite reports from some who suggest otherwise, I have not seen much of this on Agassiz Peak.
