Re: Is this place real?

Yes, Lucas, it is a real place - one of the most beautiful in the Alps, I believe.

It's easy to get to. The starting point is Pichl in Ennstal near Schladming (90km southeast from Salzburg).

The best idea is to drive 13km on a toll road by car (not expensive, but a bit dusty) to the Reiteralm 1741m. There is a lift too, but it's not working everyday in the summer season.

From the Reiteralm take an easy, very panoramic hike to the Rippetegg 2128 and then descent to the beautiful Mitter Gasselseen, where the picture has been taken. From here it is possible to go back to the Reiteralm visiting the Unter Gasselseen, but it is a good idea to make additionally a short hike to the top of Schober 2133m because of the view.

The whole loop needs about 5 hours.

The best time is maybe the early summer, when the alpine roses are flowering.

Greetings

Andrzej
