"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Sweet ridge hike from Minaret SummitGreat views along the entire ridge. Climbed the east Teat and then San Joaquin on a very windy day. Had champagne with a Sierra Club group on descent. Two days later hiked to Ediza Lake which had great views of San Joaquin.

Superb viewsTook the 4x4 road the first two miles to the end, then followed the trail to the summit, climbing the teet on the way. The hike was better than I expected, but far too sandy.
Stunning views here, this peak likely has the highest fantastic view to tedious slog ratios of any I have ever been on.

Route Climbed: Minaret SummitMy wife and I got a break from the smoke, sort of, and hiked up San Joaquin from the Minaret Summit parking lot. Excellent views of the Ansel Adams Wilderness. We also bagged the lower "teet", which had one move that was probably like class 4. The hike to the teet took us about ~4 hours with breaks, the hike up to the summit of San Joaquin took another 15 minutes.

walk-up from Mammoth SideDate is something of a guess. I was working on a drill rig in the Mammoth area, and did this hike on my day off. I had seen the mountain on various hikes up the SW side of June Lake, and was almost tempted to go from the lake.

Ridge TraverseDid a ridge traverse from Agnew Pass starting with Carson Peak then on to San Joaquin Mt and finally Two Teats. Great views from each peak of the Ritter Range and the Sierra Crest from Rodgers to the Koip Peak area.

Route Climbed: Minaret Summit Date Climbed: 4 August 2005Warm-up for Sierra Challenge 2005. (Happy Birthday, Mom!) Sadly, the classic Sierra Club register box exists no more. It apparently disappeared within the last 2 weeks. I shake my head in frustration as these boxes become more and more rare.

Route Climbed: North Slopes Date Climbed: Aug 20, 2004Warmup for a Goddard dayhike the next day. Went up via Fern Lake, returning via Yost Lake. To my surprise, this approach actually took longer than the hike from Minaret Summit. Yost Meadow was pretty and worth seeing, but apart from that I'd recommend Minaret Summit as the way to go.
