Great day  Sucess!

Just under 10 hours round trip from Pingree Park. The area at Mummy Pass is spectacular. There was a LOT of water above Icefield Pass. The icefield aided my ascent and descent. Lots of elk sign (their trails are a great help through the willows, look for them) but did not see any.

Stormy Peaks to Mummy Pass  Sucess!

From Pingree Park we headed up to Stormy Peaks Pass, over Sugarloaf and Skull Pt. to Icefield Pass and up to Rowe Peak. Returned by staying west of Rowe Mtn. down to Flint Pass and out the Mummy Pass trail. It was a beautiful slog. All in all it took about 12 hours and we didn't see a soul until we returned to Pingree Park.

Long Day  Sucess!

We left Pingree Park at 430 am and climbed Rowe via Mummy Pass. I'd intended to reach Hagues as well but was pretty wiped out by the time I made it to the cirque in between Rowe and Hagues.

From the Mummy Pass Trail  Sucess!

We came up the Mummy Pass trail from the west and climbed Rowe Mountain and Rowe Peak. The tundra just about made you want to break out in a chorus of "The Hills Are Alive". There was a herd of a couple hundred elk to the southwest of Flint pass.

Route Climbed: Mummy Pass - Icefield Pass Date Climbed: October 14, 2002  Sucess!

This was a really long hike. It took me nearly 12 hours to make the roundtrip from Emmaline Lake Trailhead. The terrain around the top of Mummy Pass and the views from the summit made the trip worthwhile. Check out my trip report for the details. Check out my website for a complete set of the photos I took during the trip: www.leachfam.com.
