Route Description

This route is intended for Winter and early Spring only. It begins the same as the normal route following the twin lakes road as it switchbacks up to the lakes. At the pass, cut left (North-West) crossing a snow-bridge over the twin lakes creek. If the bridge has been melted out then it is too late in the season for this route. After the crossing, continue North-West over the ridge into the wide avalache gully. Follow the gully North to the Saddle at 6300 feet and then head East for the remaining 200 feet. Be aware of avalanche conditions. This route shaves off a half-mile each way.

Essential Gear

All the winter basics, especially an ice axe.

""All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, awake in the day to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it reality.""   --T.E. Lawrence
