Approach

Start:

1. in the small town Corvara (1555 m). Here you have the lift “Funvia Boe” to the station Crep du Mont.

2. on Passo Campolongo (1875 m, in the way between Corvara and Arabba). The walking up from Passo Campolongo to Crep du Mont takes about 1 hour.

From Crep du Mont you can take a chair-lift to Vallon station. Caution: on Tuesdays the chair-lift from Crep du Mont to Vallon station doesn't work. The way on foot takes about 1,5 h from Crep du Mont up to beginning of via ferrata.

Route Description

From Vallon chair-lift station we have about 15 minutes to the entrance. Via Ferrata Piz da Lech begins on the mouth of a big vertical gully. At first we are climbing not very sheer, but passing a ledge. Later we have a few smooth steps, a gash and higher we must conquer a small wall. The climbing way is good secured with the steel cable, there are also a few artificial steps or handles. On the way we have two good places for rest, just before end we cal also walk some meters. Attention for the climbers over and under us, especially for the falling stones!
On the end of ferrata we have the most exposed place, but the climbing is easier thanks to two long ladders (see picture). Later we have only walking up to the summit cross, about half hour. Descent on the normal route takes 1,5 h to Crep du Mont and over 2 h to Passo Campolongo.

Essential Gear

Standard via ferrata equipment: climbing harness with ferrata-set (kit), helmet, gloves, sun- and wind-protection.
